Ebrahim Matthews

Ebrahim has more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services sector. Prior to joining Pearson South Africa in August 2016, Ebrahim served as the MD of Diners Club SA (Pty) Ltd for six years. During his tenure the business was voted as the best Diners Club franchise in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region in 2013 and experienced exponential growth becoming the largest franchise in the region.

Before joining Diners, he held a number of leadership positions at Standard Bank including being the Head of the Pan African Commercial Card and a Director Bluebean, Commercial Card and Co-Brand Programmes.

Ebrahim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Sociology, a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and Human Resource Management and has completed the International Executive Development Programme through Cass Business School in London and Wits Business School.

He is a senior executive with a strong history of relationship management and business development across a wide range of services. Ebrahim’s key strengths are leadership, business remediation, excellent communication skills, business development, relationship management, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Ebrahim has extensive experience in the development of corporate and consumer business strategy, business performance and strategic partnerships. He has a strong track record of growing businesses and building multi-cultural teams.

He is married to Soraya and they have three sons, Yazdaan, Keyaan and Zayaan.

Mike Ogden

Mike Ogden is the Executive Director for Operations and Finance, and as part of his dual role he also oversees the Legal function in SA as well as the BPM and Finance teams.

He has been involved with the CTI / MGI business for 15 years and has in-depth knowledge of finance within Direct Delivery. Mike previously ran his own Financial Consulting Company, and has a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification, which he obtained in 1978. He has been in Finance for over 40 years.

Alice Bhebhe

Alice Bhebhe is the Executive Director for Human Resources. In this role she works with the business leaders to create an empowering culture to ensure that the right people are recruited, and develops the required competencies to help position Pearson South Africa team to collaboratively deliver the strategy.

Alice is passionate about helping businesses make the most of their resources and talent and helping individuals make the most of their careers. Alice has a strong belief that people are at the core of Pearson South Africa’s success. Having worked predominantly in Retail and Financial Services she brings great experience in managing organisational transformation and talent management.

She holds a BA Degree majoring in English and Philosophy from the University of Zimbabwe, a Certificate in Marketing and Public Relations from London Chamber of Commerce and a Strategic HR Certificate from the Stellenbosch Business School.

Reggie Mokotsi

Reggie Mokotsi is the Executive Director for Sales and Marketing.
In this role he leads the teams in improving lives through learning. His customers include schools, post schools and professional learners. As well as those that influence their learning experience – educators, institutions, parents, sponsors, government and trade bodies.

He is currently the Education Executive (EDEX) Representative for the South African Publishers Association (PASA) in Limpopo, Member of the Black Management Forum and Associated Member of the Institute of Marketing Management.

Reggie has over 19 years experience in Sales. He joined Pearson in 2009.

He holds a Diploma in Marketing from the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM) and a Management Development Programme from University of South Africa.​

Peter Wasserfall

Peter Wasserfall is the General Counsel for South Africa. In this role he leads
​a team that provides proactive, pragmatic legal advice that enables the business and protects our assets and reputation. His clients range from internal and external stakeholders and business functions across the African continent.

Member of the Compliance Institute of Southern Africa and Presenter at the 2018 Legal Innovation & Technology Festival. Member of Pearson's Legal Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Global Anti-Trust Network, Data Privacy Officers Network and Local Compliance Officer for South Africa.

​Peter has over 2​5 years experience in Commercial Law and Litigation, having worked as Military Legal Counsel for the SA National Defense Force and as a practicing attorney at Oosthuizen Meyer De Waal Inc. He joined Pearson in March 2003. He holds a
​B.Proc (LLB)​ from the University of South Africa and post-graduate qualifications in Employment Law and Compliance Management from the University of Cape Town.

He is married to his wife Irèna with children Alec (15) and Aimee (12).
 

Dr. Nhlanhla Thwala

Dr. Nhlanhla Thwala is the Academic Director of Pearson Institute of Higher Education. In this role, he oversees the institution’s academic functions, regulatory affairs, student experience, employability and alumni relations. Pearson Institute prides itself of providing an education that nurtures the talents of its students as well giving them opportunities to develop and demonstrate their abilities.

With over 20 years experience in the field of education in South Africa, Swaziland, United States of America and United Kingdom, Dr Thwala has a highly developed understanding of academic conditions locally and internationally.

Dr. Warren Moollan

Dr. Warren Moollan’s career spans a total of 19 years with 17 years in financial services, predominantly in the fields of Wealth Management, International Investment Management and Banking and Insurance Operations. He holds a PhD in Thermodynamics from the University of Natal (in conjunction with Warsaw Polytech) and has completed a fellowship at the University of Oldenburg in Germany.

Dr. Moollan is a highly experienced Business Strategist, Digital Operational Strategist and Operational Manager. He has led large and complex teams across all areas of several businesses, and served on several executive management teams responsible for the strategy and business development, including Global Businesses.

Prior to joining Pearson Dr. Moollan worked as an Independent Management Consultant assisting banks and insurers to enhance their customer experience using data, digital strategies and operational metrics by redesigning their operational processes. He was previously Head of Insurance Operations at Standard Bank in the Wealth and Investment Division. Before joining Standard Bank, Dr. Moollan was the Senior VP and Head of the International Wealth Management Division (IPB) of CitiBank. He also formed part of the Executive Management team of Citi Corporate and Investment Bank South Africa

Dr. Warren Moollan has been a member of senior management teams of several blue chip Financial Services companies including:
ABSA/Barclays: Head of ABSA Wealth International, Banking and Investments as well as the Regional Director ABSA Wealth.
Liberty Life: Director of Decentralised Operations at Liberty Life responsible for the management of all operational activity within the branch network of Liberty Life
Nedbank: Chief Operating Officer Nedbank Group Insurance Brokers (NGIB)
