CTI education group

CTI education group was established in 1979 with just one campus and a few students. As one of the first private higher education institutions in South Africa, it identified a need for specialised degree and non-degree qualifications in the emerging field of information technology, as well as in commerce. From day one, its primary objective was to offer new, industry-appropriate and quality programmes that prepared graduates for meaningful work in sectors that needed them.

CTI offers and supports a wide variety of career focused and high-quality qualifications ranging from Information Technology, Business Management and Law to non-formal programmes and short courses. In the Information Technology Faculty, CTI’s unique study options make it possible for students to fast track their IT studies and gain employment within a year. In addition to local registrations and accreditations, the CTI Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Commerce degrees are quality assured by Cardiff Metropolitan University in the UK.

Because CTI prepares students for the real world of work, being proficient in the use of technology is another of their key objectives. For this reason, CTI provides their students with a Tablet PC which enhances the overall learning experience, students are able to read applicable digital content, conduct research and communicate with lecturers and peers.

CTI is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (No. 2004/HE07/004) and accredited by the South African Council on Higher Education (CHE). This accreditation ensures that all programmes and academic services are of the highest standard and that students have comprehensive employment opportunities available to them upon completion of their studies.

In 2013, Pearson became the sole owner of CTI. This makes them one of the largest higher education providers in South Africa. By securing this partnership, Pearson’s strong brand, educational resources and global reach will help leverage CTI’s strengths and transform the higher education landscape in southern Africa.

Pearson seeks to serve the higher education market by providing educational resources such as teaching and learning materials, assessment services and a range of educational solutions and tools.
