Our vision is to be the leading source of quality and innovative learning materials in all areas in which we are represented.
Maskew Miller Longman has over 100 years of publishing experience in South Africa and is committed to the highest standards of quality. Research and development are cornerstones of the company, which publishes learning and teaching material in all eleven official languages. This includes quality textbooks in compliance with the South African Curriculum, for the Foundation, Intermediate, Senior and Further Education Training (FET) phases. As partners to government in the educational arena, MML develops local materials for local needs. As part of Pearson, it taps into global expertise.
Heinemann publishes a range of school textbooks, eLearning, and professional development materials for all schools in South Africa. Its textbooks and teachers’ guides allow teachers to focus on face-to-face teaching and learner support rather than administration and ensure a successful learning experience, teaching rather than telling and showing how rather than simply instructing. Each Heinemann course yields a strong academic result in order to ensure learners progress successfully to the next level.
Both Maskew Miller Longman and Heinemann offer product training.
The Maskew Miller Longman Literature Awards was launched in 2006 by Maskew Miller
Longman as part of their commitment to develop quality literature in all official languages for
learners and to encourage a love of reading in a learner’s mother tongue.
Maskew Miller Longman is part of Pearson, the world’s leading learning company. Continuing
the tradition of developing quality literature established by Maskew Miller Longman, Pearson
continues to host the Maskew Miller Longman Literature Awards.
The Maskew Miller Longman Literature Awards is an annual event with a different genre each year - genres rotate each year between novels, drama and short stories.
