Child-friendly phonics
Letterland is a phonics-based approach to teaching reading, writing and spelling for 3 to 10 year olds. The Letterland characters transform plain black letter shapes into child-friendly pictograms. What’s more, Letterland is wonderfully multi-sensory. It activates every learning channel through music, actions, alliteration, movement, song, art, games and role-play.

Each Letterland pack has been developed to provide teachers with the essential tools to improve literacy levels and develop happy, confident and successful readers. They are aligned to the CAPS-curriculum, have been approved by the Department of Education and are listed on the National Catalogue.
Included in the Teacher’s Pack is a Getting Started DVD with tips and videos on how to start using the programme in your classroom.
We offer FREE workshop support to all teachers; the workshops are 2 hours long and cover techniques and strategies for teaching phonics. Teachers are provided with a pack of sample lessons and a resources CD.
